Find an Account

Answer four short questions. We show the highest rates that fit what you told us, in plain words.

About how much money will you put in?

How this list is made

When you tell us an amount, every list on this page is ordered by what that amount earns in a year, which is not the same as the advertised rate on a capped or tiered account. When you tell us no amount, the order is APY. Ties break on a stable identity, and a rating never changes the order.

We leave out a savings or money market account whose monthly fee is not easy to avoid. A waiver that asks you to move your banking does not count as easy: a direct deposit, a monthly number of card payments, or another account or loan with the bank.

Some savings accounts pay their rate only up to a balance cap. We leave one out when your amount, with its interest, would pass the cap before you need the money: a year on the savings path, or the time you chose on the CD path, with five years for "Longer than 2 years" and "I'm not sure".

No placement on this page is for sale. A card that pays us carries a marked link, and that link looks different from the others; the marker says so on the card.

Some banks pay us a fee if you open an account through their link. That link carries a marker, and the fee never changes which accounts appear or in what order. The full policy is on the Advertising Disclosure page.

Unless you ask for a branch, every account on this page is sold nationwide, so you can open it wherever you live. When you ask for a branch, we ask for your state and show the banks with a branch there. A few accounts have no state limit on record; we count them as sold nationwide.

When our data pipeline has not confirmed a detail, we say so on the card instead of hiding the account. A data gap never removes a bank from your results.
