Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 29, 2026. This version replaces the version of February 9, 2026.
1. Introduction
Welcome to Banksparency ("we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit banksparency.com (the "Website"), how we use it, who else receives it, and how you can see, correct or delete it.
2. Information We Collect
a. Automatically Collected Data
- Log data: Our host, Vercel, records each request to the Website: the IP address, the browser string, and the page requested. Vercel keeps these logs for a short period under its own retention rules.
- Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights: These measure visits and page speed in aggregate. They use no cookies and do not follow you to other websites.
- Link clicks: When you click a link to another website, such as a bank's website, we record the link, the page you clicked it on, and your browser string. We do not record your IP address with the click.
- Security reports: Your browser can send an anonymous Content Security Policy violation report (the page URL, the blocked resource and the browser string). We keep these reports for 30 days to find broken page code.
- Page engagement: On a bank comparison page, your browser sends one anonymous record of the visit after you scroll, click or type: the page, how long it was visible, how far you scrolled, which sections came into view, and which kind of link you clicked. The record has no cookie, no IP address and no identifier that lasts after you leave the page.
b. Data You Provide Voluntarily
If you use the contact form, we collect your name, your email address and your message. The form sends them to our inbox through our email provider, Resend. We do not store them in a database. Resend keeps a delivery log under its own retention rules. We keep the email only as long as we need it to answer you.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Answer the messages you send us.
- Improve website functionality and performance.
- Monitor traffic and detect fraud or malicious activity.
4. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
Visitors get no cookies except from Google reCAPTCHA, which blocks spam on the contact page. (The admin login, which only the site operator uses, sets a login cookie.) reCAPTCHA loads only after you accept it in the banner on that page. Your browser stores your choice ("granted" or "denied") in its local storage, not in a cookie. Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights use no cookies.
Learn more about managing cookies: allaboutcookies.org.
Third parties that can collect data across websites
Google reCAPTCHA is the one third-party service on the Website that can collect information about you over time and across different websites. It collects hardware and software information, such as device and application data, and sends it to Google. Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply to it. reCAPTCHA runs only on the contact page, and only after you accept it.
Do Not Track
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. We do not track you across other websites, and apart from reCAPTCHA we do not let third parties do so. Because of this, we collect the same data whether or not your browser sends the signal.
5. Data Sharing & Selling
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to anyone. These service providers process data for us to run the Website:
- Vercel Inc. hosts the Website and provides the analytics.
- Supabase Inc. hosts the database that holds the click records, the page engagement records and the security reports.
- Resend delivers the messages you send through the contact form.
- Google LLC runs reCAPTCHA on the contact page.
6. Third-Party Links
Our Website may contain links to external sites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices.
7. Data Security
We take reasonable steps to protect any collected data, but no online service is completely secure.
8. Review, Correct or Delete Your Data
You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you. Send your request to info@banksparency.com from the email address the request is about. We answer within 30 days. This applies to every visitor, wherever you live.
9. Children
The Website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If we learn that a child under 13 sent us personal information, we delete it.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
When we change this policy, we post the new version on this page with a new effective date. For a material change, we also put a notice at the top of this page for at least 30 days. We do not use information collected under an earlier version in a new way without your consent.
11. Chrome Extension
The Banksparency Top Savings Rates Chrome extension displays the top high-yield savings account rates in a popup. The extension:
- Does not collect any personal data. No browsing history, no cookies, no analytics, no tracking of any kind.
- Fetches publicly available rate data from the Banksparency API (banksparency.com/api/top-rates) and displays it locally in the extension popup.
- Does not transmit any information from your browser to Banksparency or any third party.
- Requires the host permission
https://banksparency.com/*solely to fetch rate data from our API.
